Fantagraphics goes to San Diego Comic-Con 2018: The Aftermath

Aaaaaand we’re back! San Diego Comic-Chaos has come and gone again. Infinite thanks to those of you who came by the booth and said (especially if you bought books or brought snacks/swag). Please enjoy this round-up of this year’s show!

And the winner is…

Excessively proud of Emil Ferris for her (count ’em) THREE well-deserved Eisner Awards this year. She took home the prizes for:

Best Writer/Artist, Best Coloring, and Best Graphic Album–New

And if there had been a prize for Best Acceptance Speech, she would have won that handily as well. There was hardly a dry eye in the place by the time she left the stage.

Other Fantagraphics artists who will be adorning their mantles with shiny new trophies this year are:

Mark Newgarden and Paul Karasik — How to Read Nancy: The Elements of Comics in Three Easy Panels

Best Comics-Related Book

Marcelo D’Salete and Andrea Rosenberg — Run for It: Stories of Slaves Who Fought for Their Freedom

Best U.S. Edition of International Material

and the fine folks at TCJ.com, Dan Nadel, Timothy Hodler & Tucker Stone

Best Comics-Related Journalism/Periodical

We’re also excited to report that our Associate Publisher Eric Reynolds received his well-deserved Inkpot Award in a surprise finale to our Forever Fantagraphics panel. Look how happy he is!
