New York: Ed Piskor at The New School

New York, NY – The man of many talents, Ed Piskor will be joined by notable New Yorkers in the hip hop scene to discuss the dynamic intersectionality of hip hop and comics in an event called New York Comics & Picture-Story Symposium. Beginning at 6 PM in room L104, head to The New School for a visual and verbal presentation that includes special guests:

Eric Orr – creator of “Rappin’ Max Robot”, the first ever Hip-Hop comic book. Orr is a graphic designer, illustrator, graffiti artist, and visual innovator.

Jazzy Jay – a DJ and produver whose career began in the ’70s as a DJ for Afrika Bambaataa and the Universal Zulu Nation.

DJ Johnny “Juice” Rosado – best known for his work as producer and DJ artists such as Public Enemy, the Beastie Boys, Slick Rick, Leaders and the New School, and DMC.

All moderated by Patrick Reed, who puts together Hip Hop and Comics panels at conventions all across the country. He also contributes to Comics Alliance and edits Depth of Field magazine.
