Almost lost in the sensational response to the Netflix adaptation of Forsman’s The End of the Fucking World is the equally compelling graphic novel I Am Not Okay With This. This book explores similar themes of alienation and anxiety among tormented suburban teens. Employing a diary as a narrative device, Forsman follows his female protagonist as she navigates the familiar perils of adolescence, only with a supernatural twist. Without revealing pivotal plot points, this book is the perfect companion to The End of the Fucking World, which is newly available in a handsome hardcover edition.
