What’s in Store

Mayhem and rampant alchohol abuse went hand-in-hand with aggressive biking and other shenanigans at the annual Dead Baby Downhill Friday, August 3, 2012, in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle, Wash.

Prepare to party in Georgetown all weekend. This Friday, August 7 marks the 19th annual Dead Baby Bike Club Downhill Race. The reckless sprint ends in Georgetown about 7:00 PM, which marks the start of an apocalyptic party that includes BMX daredevils, drinking, tall bike jousting, drinking, punk and heavy metal mayhem, drinking, and…more drinking. Free entertainment all evening right outside the bookstore.

Return to Seattle’s liveliest neighborhood on Saturday at 5:00 PM for the slightly more sedate Hot Off The Press book fest featuring special guests Noah Van Sciver, Ryan Boudinot, and Gina Siciliano presenting new works. Other highlights include the debut of the Extruder from the Intruder Comix crew, Desperate Times: The Summer of 1981 from Fluke Press, and tables of essential indie comix from Pity Party, Yeti Press, and Short Run, among others.

Our Hot Off The Press Fest coincides with the Georgetown Art Attack featuring an amazing array of free art and entertainment including the annual Trailer Park Drag Show, Gene Gentry McMahon at Guest Shed, Tim Fowler at Runway, an open house at Prairie Underground, Robert Roth (of Truly) at Georgetown Music Store and much more!
