The TCJ Digital Archives consists of facsimile scans of the print magazine, from its origin as a 1970s fanzine until the current issue. Study career-spanning interviews with Charles M. Schulz, Alison Bechdel, Chris Ware, Jack Kirby, Moto Hagio, Frank Miller, Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman, Lynda Barry, Brian Michael Bendis, and many more pioneering comics creators (many of whom were in the midst of creating ground-breaking work), consider reviews and analysis by some of the medium’s finest critics, learn about process from sketchbooks, and track industry news across decades. The Comics Journal also covers the history of the art form from 1800s newspaper strips and conversations with Mad magazine and EC cartoonists, while documenting, in real-time, the alternative, mini- and web-comics scenes springing from the underground. It's a rich treasure trove for comics fans, students, and scholars alike.
